BLUE HORS DON OLYMBRIO

DVH 1078 | CHESTNUT | 2008 | 168 CM

  • Several victories and placings in Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I at CDI show.
  • No less than five offspring qualified for the Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championship in Herning 2017.
  • Ready to compete in Grand Prix in 2017.
  • A stallion with a huge potential in breeding as well as in sport.
  • The best Dutch stallions in a direct line.

Blue Hors Don Olymbrio has once again shown his great potential in both breeding and sport, which led to international victories and rankings in Hagen, Odense and the Blue Hors Dressage Festival in 2016! In January 2017, he debuted in the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special at the national convention in Esbjerg with over 70% and even secured a victory in the following Grand Prix Special. Apart from several licensed stallions from the first crop, there are now five progeny who have qualified for the UHCH in Herning 2017.

His talent is especially obvious in the more difficult exercises, a talent he does not have from strangers - both his sire Jazz, and grand sire, Ferro, have competed at the highest level, and represented the Netherlands at the World Championships in dressage. Jazz has been placed high on the WBFSH dressage stallion rankings for several years, and was placed third in 2015. Jazz is probably the most influential Dutch breeding stallion of the past 25 - 30 years. He has sired a large number of licensed sons and elite mares, but the number of competition horses in the sport is second to none, making him particularly valuable to the breeding of riding horses. The grand sire Ferro was placed eight on the WBFSH rankings for 2015.

Dam sire Ferro and his rider Coby van Baalen won team silver at the Olympic Games in 2000 and Ferro has founded his own stallion line in the Netherlands, which has given the stallions Rousseau, Metall, Rhodium and Special D. Like Jazz, Ferro has produced many successful dressage horses. His offspring are characterized by a convincing ability to collect, which is a very important quality for a dressage horse.

Don Olymbrio originates from one of the most successful Dutch dam lines (family 145), which has also given the Rubinstein-son OO Seven and Edward Gal's Grand Prix horse Voice by De Niro, which has taken several Grand Prix victories and placings. Among other victories, the pair won the 2015 World Cup qualifier. Furthermore, the Grand Prix horses Celiton, Kadans and Olympic Babria, winner of the team silver at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 with Tineke Bartels, originate from this line. The great grand dam Ezabria won the Dutch Championships as a 3-year-old.

Don Olymbrio is licensed in Danish Warmblood, Oldenburg and Hanover
